Vice President of Operations
Position Purpose
The Vice President of Operations plans and leads the work of the Operations and Facilities of the organization, and is responsible for establishing overall objectives and priorities.
Essential Functions
- Directs and oversees the overall operations and site management of Company locations
- Directs and oversees the overall maintenance, purchase, and sale of Company fleet vehicles
- Establishes long-term operational objectives that are aligned with Company goals
- Integrates the separate activities of shipping, receiving, transportation, purchasing ,and sales
- Directs and oversees safety for the Company and assists the Human Resource Department regarding workers compensation related issues
- Implements programs to ensure overall security, maintenance and ergonomics for the operations functions
- Assists the President of the Company with collective bargaining agreement negotiations
- Prepares budgets annually based around the Company forecast and coordinates needs to meet budgetary requirements
- Manages relationships with vendors, union leaders, insurance providers, and government-regulated agencies such as DOT and OSHA, and ensures compliance
- Implements and administers inventory control programs
- Oversees the Operations Department in all areas of personnel management
- Stays current with operational developments and trends, informs Management of upcoming impacts to the Company, then implements changes as needed
- Works directly with the Management Team to set overall organizational priorities, and considers and analyses the implications of proposed actions and decisions on the whole of the Company
- Flexible/non-traditional schedule may be required, and some travel
- Performs other necessary functions as assigned
Qualifications Preferred
Knowledge
- 8-10 years related experience in operations management
- BS in a related field, MS preferred
- Comfortable with learning and using new technologies
- Sufficient experience with the Microsoft Office suite

- A positive attitude and the ability to maintain professional, long-term co-worker, customer, vendor, and business relationships

- Strong professional verbal and written communications skills
