Vice President of Finance

Position Purpose

The Vice President of Finance plans and leads the work of the Finance, Credit and Human Resources Departments and is responsible for establishing overall objectives and priorities.

 Essential Functions

• Directs all aspects of accounting operations, oversees all transactions related to general ledger, receivables, payables, payroll and financial reporting
• Analyzes the Company's financial results with respect to profits, trends, costs and compliance with budgets
• Issues regular status and ad hoc reports to the Management Team
• Develops and maintains all necessary accounting policies and systems, including general ledger and financial reporting
• Ensures that records are maintained in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Works directly with the Management Team to set overall organizational priorities, and considers and analyses the implications of proposed actions and decisions on the whole of the Company
• Works with other team members to understand revenue and cost drivers and define appropriate reports for tracking
• Manages cash flow
• Coordinates and/or prepares, and reviews monthly, quarterly, and annual reports
• Coordinates and/or prepares and reviews tax schedules, returns and information
• Plans, coordinates and oversees annual financial audit to ensure accuracy and compliance

• Develops and maintains all relationships with external accounting firms

• Manages all tax planning and compliance with all required federal, state, local, payroll, property and other applicable taxes
• Stays current with financial developments and trends, and informs Management of upcoming impacts to the Company, then implements changes as needed
• Provides strategic guidance around capital financing options to support Company growth needs
• Develops and coordinates all relationships with lending/financial institutions
• Manages relationships with insurance providers and ensures compliance
• Manages Credit personnel ensuring their consistent application of a credit policy, periodic credit reviews of existing customers, and the assessment of the creditworthiness of potential customers
• Reviews collections process with the goal of decreasing DSO
• Manages the HR Manager and directs the work of the HR Department as necessary, including payroll, benefits administration and direct involvement with Company retirement plans  
• Oversees the Finance, Credit and Human Resources Department in all areas of personnel management
• Services as a member of the Management Team
• Flexible/non-traditional schedule may be required, and some travel
• Performs other necessary functions as assigned

Qualifications

Knowledge

1. 8-10 years related experience in financial management
2. BS or MS in Accounting or Finance
3. Professional licensure as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
4. HR Management Experience
5. Comfortable with learning and using new technologies
6. Sufficient experience with the Microsoft Office suite
