Senior Accountant

Position Purpose

The Senior Accountant prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information. They maintain and balance subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions, and resolving discrepancies.

Essential Functions

• Demonstrates accounting practices and recordkeeping in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Conducts transactions related to general ledger, receivables, payables, payroll, and financial reporting
• Maintains relationships with lending/financial institutions as needed
• Maintains all necessary accounting policies and systems, including the general ledger, bank reconciliations, and financial reporting
• Prepares and analyzes monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and financial statements as necessary
• Prepares tax schedules, returns, and information
• Maintains relationships with insurance providers and ensures compliance as needed
• Assists with tax planning and compliance with all required federal, state, local, payroll, property and other applicable taxes
• Assists with audits and takes on additional responsibilities as necessary
• Flexible/non-traditional schedule may be required, and some travel
• Performs other necessary functions as assigned

Qualifications Preferred

Knowledge

• 3-5 years related experience in accounting
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensure preferred
• Sufficient experience with the Microsoft Office suite
