IT Manager

Position Purpose

The IT Manager plans and leads the work of the IT Department and is responsible for establishing overall objectives and priorities. The IT Manager oversees the network, application, hosting, and security services of the Company to meet technical requirements and monitors the day-to-day operations of all systems to assure strategic initiatives are successfully implemented.

Essential Functions

• Manages and monitors Company networks, servers, storage, and systems to maximize IT support and provide appropriate security, integrity, and availability
• Manages the protection of system data commensurate with the level of risk and magnitude of harm resulting from loss, misuse, unauthorized access, or modification
• Directs the installation, configuration/customization, testing, and documentation of all computing hardware and software systems company-wide
• Oversees and manages the Company's IT projects, coordinating all phases from requirements analysis to evolution following defined Standard Development Lifecycle (SDLC) processes
• Processes incoming requests to the IT Help Desk, and provides courteous, timely, and effective resolution of customer issues
• Acts as liaison between the Company, vendors, and consultants
• Assures compliance with applicable corporate and legal standards
• Prepares and analyzes monthly, quarterly, and annual reports as necessary
• Assists with audits and takes on additional responsibilities as necessary
• Oversees the IT Department in all areas of personnel management
• Stays current with technological developments and informs Management of upcoming impacts to the Company, then implements changes as needed
• Works directly with the Management Team to set overall organizational policies and priorities, and considers and analyzes the implications of proposed actions and decisions on the whole of the Company
• Flexible/non-traditional schedule may be required, and some travel
• Performs other necessary functions as assigned

Qualifications Preferred

Knowledge

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field
• 10 years of experience in the IT field with specific knowledge of current data center technologies (all platforms: Windows, Linux, Servers, Switches, Firewalls, Storage, Service Management and Monitoring products)
• 5-8 years related experience in Information Technology management
• Excellent understanding of IT Service/Operations Management best practices
• Experience with Change Management, Release Management, Incident & Problem Management, Availability Management, Capacity Management, Monitoring & Event Management, Batch Management, and IT Service Level Management
• Sufficient experience with the Microsoft Office suite
