Door Systems Purchasing Manager
Position Purpose
The Negwer Door Systems Purchasing Manager provides advanced professional procurement for a wide variety of materials, supplies, equipment and/or services, and provides guidance and assistance to the Company.
Essential Functions
- Oversees purchasing activities necessary to acquire materials, equipment, and services of the required quality at the lowest evaluated cost
- Coordinates availability of materials to the point of use at the time required by the contract
- Utilizes Contract ERP on a daily basis to assess the needs of the Department and maintain a balanced level of inventory
- Ensures the compliance of all purchasing activities with Company guidelines, applicable laws, regulations, and policies
- Builds, manages, and maintains professional, long-term customer and business relationships and partnerships
- Reviews, tracks, and approves Purchase Orders and Acknowledgements
- Audits invoices and resolves discrepancies
- Coordinates and/or prepares, and reviews monthly, quarterly, and annual reports
- Manages all paperwork and electronic files in a timely and organized way
- Inputs and maintains new product lines into Contract ERP as needed
- Grows and maintains relationships with vendors
- Analyzes supplier information to assess cost and schedule risks
- Regularly interacts with other Departments (Accounting, Sales, Project Management, etc).
- Stays current with purchasing developments and trends, informs the NDS General Manager of upcoming impacts to the Company
- Communicates with shop personnel as needed
- Flexible/non-traditional schedule may be required, and some travel
- Performs other necessary functions as assigned
Qualifications Preferred
Knowledge
- 1-3 years related experience in frame, door and hardware sales, or related field
- Some college education preferred
- Extensive knowledge of Contract ERP
- Comfortable with learning and using new technologies
- Sufficient experience with the Microsoft Office suite
