Central Illinois General Manager

Position Purpose

The Central Illinois General Manager, plans and leads the work of the Central Illinois locations, and implements improvements as required.

Essential Functions

• Establishes long-term operational objectives that are aligned with Company goals
• Ensures that all five (5) Illinois locations are staffed and open every work day; coordinates leaves of absence, vacations, and 'sick days' to ensure complete staffing
• Relays Company initiatives from the corporate office to the appropriate Central Illinois Team Members
• Manages the overall sales direction of the yards; pricing structure, brands carried and commercial job quotes
• Monitors the condition of Company buildings and equipment
• Supports Central Illinois Location Managers as needs arise
• Grows and maintains relationships with customers and vendors
• Interacts with larger commercial contractors to bid work in multiple yards, acts as technical support.
• Assists the President of the Company with collective bargaining agreement negotiations
• Assists the Credit Department with collections and credit limits based on upcoming work
• Coordinates meetings and events with the Central Illinois locations
• Coordinates and/or prepares, and reviews monthly, quarterly, and annual reports Oversees the Central Illinois Location Managers in all areas of personnel management
• Flexible/non-traditional schedule may be required, and regular travel
• Performs other necessary functions as assigned

Qualifications Preferred

Knowledge

• 8-10 years related experience in management
• Bachelor's degree with business or construction emphasis preferred
• Comfortable with learning and using new technologies
• Sufficient experience with the Microsoft Office suite
