Acoustical Sales Manager

Position Purpose

The Sales Manager is responsible for acoustical sales, new and existing customers, specifications, and profitability.   The Sales Manager maintains excellent relationships with customers, office staff, the architectural community, general contractors, and manufacturers. Furthermore, the Sales Manager oversees sales personnel along with sales tools such as customer bid tracking and substitution request, bid logs, quote logs, follow up, and the reporting of wins and losses.

 

Essential Functions

  • Work with key customers pre-bid and post-bid to pull through product specifications to secure projects
  • Secures dated addendums from Architects stating that products are approved and accepted on projects, giving confidence to our customer base and providing this documentation prior to bid date
  • Reviews and evaluates a wide variety of bid lists: door bid list, Dodge, customer bid list, and other outside sources (architect and General Contractor bid room)
  • Researches and proactively finds acoustical opportunities
  • Updates bid list weekly and share with the Sales Team
  • Communicates appropriately with Architects, GC's, and customer questions and concerns about job-specific opportunities
  • Communicates with local Manufacturer representatives to help pull through a project with a team approach; confirms clear direction on specialty ceilings that are not within the scope of our current core manufacturers (USG, Certainteed, Rockfon)
  • Grows and maintains relationships with customers and vendors
  • Develops and maintains relationships with local customer base by participating in association events, company events, general contractor functions, and seminars
  • Maintains and builds relationships with Architectural firms in St. Louis, Missouri, Columbia, Missouri, and Cape Girardeau, Missouri
  • Flexible/non-traditional schedule may be required, and regular travel
  • Performs other necessary functions as assigned

Qualifications Preferred

Knowledge

  • 3-5 years' experience in sales, with a construction emphasis
  • College preferred, but not required
  • Comfortable with learning and using new technologies
  • Sufficient experience with the Microsoft Office suite
